I’m getting all new stereo stuff for my car! I have a pioneer deck picked out…I’m gettin 2 new pioneer 12s…what size amp do i need to push those…amps are expensive so i want only what i absolutely have to have! And is it true that if i buy my stuff from circuit city they will install it for free? I know they will on the deck but what about the speakers and amp?!?! Also, I have a 2002 cavalier LS…does anybody know what size speakers are in the doors and the back?!?!
look on the back of the 12s it will tell you how many watts to use if it says 100w you’ll need a 200w amp. the radio puts out watts also look at the specs on the manual on your 2002 door speakers could be around 10w {can’t help u on circuit city sorry}

They will give you the labor for free on the stereo, but still charge for the parts on it. Speakers and the amp they will probably charge you for parts and labor. As for speaker size the factory sizes are 4×6 in the front and 6×9 in the back. They do make adaptors for the front to put 6.5 speakers in, go for that. Much better sound than a 4×6.

For the amp, you gotta check how many watts the subs will take. Look at continuous watts get one that will give enough power to both subs.

As to your pioneer deck, I would recommend an Alpine. They sound alot better, expecially when using the deck amp to drive your speakers. As to the amp for your 12" pioneers, it depends on the RMS or continious wattage rating. More than likely a good 500 Rms X 1 mono block amp will do great. You could probably get away with the JL 250/1 which will run you about 300. It will drive your 12′s great. Circuit City will install the deck for free, however you will have to pay for the mounting kit for your cavalier (about $25) and a mandatory parts fee of about $15. As to the amp and the speakers, they will each be installed on a labor basis, more labor, more cost! Generally it will cost about 50-100 dollars per pair of speakers installed. If you want a good place to price car audio. Go to Crutchfield.com, they have a wide selection and also give complete instructions for self-install for speakers and head units with purchase (you can save alot of money!!) Good luck!!
